Landen is a former produce farmer, turned Produce Safety Technician, at the Marquette County Conservation District. Her main coverage area includes the seven central-most counties in the Upper Peninsula, including Alger, Marquette, Delta, Menominee, Dickinson, Iron, and Baraga. She also serves the remaining eight counties in the Upper Peninsula by request. Landen is a visual thinker and organizer at heart, and has dedicated some of her time to developing tools and templates for produce growers to use on their farms. The On-Farm Produce Safety Plan template is a great starting point for any farm beginning their food safety journey! Landen holds a B.S. from Northern Michigan University in Environmental Studies and is currently pursuing a M.S. in Agricultural Education from Iowa State University online. She lives in Marquette with her husband and their golden retriever, and enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible.
